Charleston Woman Dies on Wedding Anniversary – The Daily Standard, Sikeston, Missouri,  Sept 19, 1949

Mrs. Emma J. Chron, 77 years old, wife of R. L. Chron, passed away at 8:45 AM on Saturday.  

Mrs. Chron’s death came on her 59th wedding anniversary.  She and Mr. Chron were married Sept. 17, 1890.  She was born August 2, 1872 in Warren County, Kentucky and came to Charleston in 1895.

Surviving are her husband, two sons,  V.G. Chron of St. Louis, and W. R. Chron of Charleston; a daughter, Mrs. Bernie Webb of Gary, Ind., a brother, Ellis Lee of Sturgis, KY; three half-sisters, Mrs. Bertha Cobb of Martinville, KY, Mrs. Bess Martin of Southerland, KY, and Mrs. Anna Taylor, California and seven grandchildren, including Mrs. Wm. Kies of Cape Girardeau.

Funeral services were tenatively set for 3 o’clock, Sunday afternoon at the Nazarene Church, by the pastor Rev. H.L. Ray, and Rev. A.B. Cooper.  Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery with Nunnelee service.
